Jake Duncombe

Bob thinks we can´t just have bikers on our page… 😉 Here´s a video he sent me. Why don´t you get someone to film you guys?! Any video nerds among you? I could ask Patsy if you´re interested. Just an idea. – Maja

Duncombe rules! shame is we´ll never be able to do something remotely similar when our ramp is that children´s playground. can´t blame us for using the stairs and paths in the park when thats all there is. even there its crowded with the bmx guys

Give us a ramp that gives a kick!!

Totally agree. But who should we contact about this? When we spoke to the Park Neighbour Commitee last summer they just treated us like children and said we already have a ramp.

A big effort was made from the Park Neighbour Commitee when the skating ramp was built. We made a substantial contribution to the costs. We understand that you young people get older and would like more challenges, but you must understand that a bigger ramp would take too much space. Also, there is not much goodwill among people in our borrow as to spending more money on skaters who don´t respect the security and peace of the other users of the park. Yesterday my mother of 87 years old fell when one of the skaters passed just a few inches beside her and made her lose her balance. She could have broken her hip, her age and all. It´s a shame old people can´t be safe in the park, which is one of the few places they have for recreation. Anna R.

This is a problem also for my family. My wife feels very uncomfortable around these youngster and often stays at home instead of going to the park as she used to.

When is anybody going to respect that people living around here need some peace??? I really hope that nobody will listen to the youngster´s claim for a mega ramp. Then we can just as well move all of us. Neighbour

can´t believe you throw out these generalised, patronising comments even here. my friends and me have a very good relationship with most of the users of the park also some of the old folks. we are individuals and not all of the skaters are from our neighbourhood. anyhow, where do you suggest we skate when there´s no challenge in the existing ramp and it´s also invaded by bmx bikers??
