Car park eating its way into the park

As you´ve probably read in the newspapers the last months, several companies are investing and building new businesses north of Green Park. Now the City Council wants to solve some of the traffic problems by building a parking area which will extend into the Green Park area. See an extract from the City Council web page below. And give us your opinion!!

As if we didn´t have too little space as it is. I really worry about my kids, now they run around everywhere on their own, but with a parking and lots of cars… We should take care of the few green spaces we have left in this town.

Cant beleive they give money to this and ignore the conflict and problems on needle hill. with 30 000 € they could have started the injection rooms adn saved alot of people. this just shows how the politicians have no intention to do something!

So there´s no room for a bigger skating ramp, but hey, why don´t we build a parking lot instead?! ?

I totally support Mary. We have created such a nice ambient for our children, and it´s good to see that our kids can meet and play outdoors instead of sitting in front of a computer at home. We should make a protest letter to the City Council. I think they are obliged to take neighbour protests into account when making plans like these.

Maybe you can check this out, Lea? The Park Neighbour Commitee will probably also have their say in this, if I know them right 😉 . – Maja

I think you should take into consideration that a parking will decrease the traffic going through your neighbourhood since a lot of these cars will park here and not continue through the streets. In other words, you will have a safer and less polluted living environment.

About time the City Council did something to facilitate the establishment of private companies in the city. Without parking facilities we have no possibility to survive the competition with companies with big parking lots in the suburbs. If we want to encourage growth in business we have to take the consequences. This shouldn´t be mixed up with the problem with the drug abusers, which I agree should be taken care of asap.

I take it u don´t actually live in our neighbourhood?

But where is the parking supposed to be located? Are there any drawings anywhere? Hopefully it will be close to the elderly center.

  11. Maja sagt:

You find all the documents on the City Council´s web page.

  12. Mary sagt:

Parkinson has a good point. The civic centre is a popular meeting point for the elderly, and there are no parking facilities nearby.

Do they still have a driver´s license?
